Ottawa Branch

Based in our country’s capital, Willow Youth Network is our 4th branch. We strive to teach young people what it means to be empowered both locally and globally. Through our Clubs, we promote inclusiveness and positivity, while providing youth with the tools they need to realize their achievement!

Throughout the year, we also fundraise and host events in Ottawa and the surrounding area in order to support our local and global community.

  • Sarah Sadat

    CO-BRANCH LEADER

    Hi there! My name is Sarah Sadat and I am a second year Biomedical Science student minoring in Psychology at the University of Ottawa. I love to tap into my creative energy through my artwork and always look forward to growing by expanding my knowledge and my mind (I am very passionate about growing my book collection)! I am so excited to be a branch leader for Willow Youth Network this year, a club that seeks to empower a generation of young women and give them energetic permission to strive towards their goals with self-fulfillment and confidence.

    CO-BRANCH LEADER

    Hi everyone! My name is Agam Deol, and I have the privilege of being a co-branch leader for the WYN this year. A little bit about me, I’m in my second year of biomedical sciences at the University of Ottawa. Some of my hobbies include reading, binging Grey’s Anatomy, and playing volleyball. I’m very excited to be a part of the WYN team, as my role allows me to collaborate with the team to engage and facilitate events for youth in our community. I believe educating young students in interactive ways, such as workshops and presentations, are very beneficial for creating a positive space, which is one of the reasons why I joined this club! I look forward to the promising year ahead with the goal of resonating with the younger generation, and allowing them to feel heard, paving a way for positive change and inspiration in their lives.

    Hello everyone! I’m Zoya, a second-year biomedical sciences student at the University of Ottawa. In my free time, I enjoy painting, reading, and exploring the city. It is with great enthusiasm that I join this organization. I am incredibly passionate about its mission to support and uplift youth, with a particular emphasis on women and girls in our community. I look forward to working with like-minded individuals to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those around us.

    SOCIAL MEDIA/GRAPHIC DESIGN

    Hey everyone! My name is Chloé Leblanc and I am a third year student at the University of Ottawa, enrolled in the Feminist and Gender studies & Political Science joint program. After I graduate, I am hoping to continue my education with a master’s degree, focusing on globalization and decolonization through a gender lens. When I am not studying for my courses, you can find me keeping up on social and political events happening around the world, listening to music and being outdoors. I am looking forward to making posts, that I hope, will inspire and encourage youth to use their voice and to empower the people around them!

    Hi! My name is Usva and I’m a 2nd year Biomedical Science student at uOttawa. Outside of school I enjoy reading, painting and spending time in nature. I’ve always been passionate about doing my part within the community and so I’m excited to work with WYN to inspire and empower the next generation in understanding feminist issues—and be part of a team that shares my values in anti-oppression and intersectionality.

    Hi everyone, my name is Tabatha and I recently graduated from uOttawa with a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science. I am currently working on my second Bachelor's degree in Psychology and I hope to pursue a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology. When I'm not in school, my hobbies include yoga, snowboarding, and spending time outdoors. I joined WYN because I am passionate about educating young people on current feminist issues in the hopes that it will help empower and inspire them to be a voice of change for their generation.

    My name is Kaitlyn. I am a first-year teacher candidate in the Bachelor of Education program at the University of Ottawa. I have a passion for sharing knowledge and inspiring young minds and the Willow Youth Network is a great opportunity to put my skills to use. Outside of education, I love any form of creative outlet, baking, sewing, you name it! I also really enjoy camping and being outdoors. I am incredibly excited to join the Willow Youth Network and help educate the next generation of feminists.

    My name is Lina Sediqi and I am a third-year Accounting student at the University of Ottawa. My passions lie in promoting gender equity in workforces, reading, and skating. I am excited to join the Willow Youth Network to positively impact the community. I am looking forward to collaborating on initiatives that inspire change and empower youth voices.

    Hi, I'm Sathana Anandkumar, a second-year Biomedical Science student with a love for neuroscience. I also enjoy baking, boxing, and I love watching club soccer (GO MAN CITY!) . As the Outreach Officer this year, I'm excited to engage with youth and share valuable insights, especially with those from underrepresented and marginalized communities.

    I'm Dirmitha, a second-year biomedical sciences student, and I'm thrilled to be joining the Willow Youth Network as an Outreach Leader. I have a passion for science and some of my hobbies include reading, photography, and volunteering. I'm excited to connect with others and contribute to our outreach initiatives.
